Life is experienced through our senses from the beautiful body gifted to us.
But do we really hear, see, touch, smell, taste?
Ayurveda is the Science of Life
For the sake of making it simple, let’s say our food bodies (and all matter, as a matter of fact) are comprised of 5 beautifully exquisite elements.
In a perfect world, a perfect body will be perfectly balanced in these perfect elements. But…we are perfectly imperfect. Agree?
Vata: Wind/ Ether
Traits-cold, light, irregular, active, dry, changing, mobile, creative, expressive
Pitta: Fire/ Water
Traits-sharp, hot, oily, transformative, intelligent, harsh, intense
Kapha: Earth/ Water
Traits-slow, stable, heavy, dense, soft, sweet, unchanging, constant, calm
Question: What is a Dosha?
Answer: That which goes out of balance.
Here is a Checklist to contemplate:
- Our bodies have all three doshas.
- You have a dominant dosha
- Your doshas are constantly going out of balance
- The goal is to balance the doshas
